Il y répond à nos questions :
sur la mission de l’Église selon l’appel du pape Léon XIV, sur la place des sacrements et de la transmission de la foi, sur la dévotion mariale.
Il s’attarde particulièrement sur le Vetus Ordo : il rappelle que les livres de 1962 étaient encore ceux des Pères conciliaires pendant le Concile, et invite à revenir, sans anachronisme et à la lumière des archives qui commencent à s’ouvrir, sur le processus qui a mené, après Vatican II, à la réforme liturgique, un travail historique qu’il juge encore largement à approfondir. Selon lui, on peut être pleinement catholique en vivant les sacrements selon les livres de 1962, et cette liturgie séculaire garde aujourd’hui toute sa force missionnaire, en particulier auprès des jeunes générations.
Le cardinal évoque aussi l’avenir de l’Église en France et en Europe, la prochaine visite du pape Léon XIV dans notre pays, et ce qu’il a vécu et ressenti au contact des pèlerins de Chartres.

He answers our questions
on the Church’s mission as called for by Pope Leo XIV, on the place of the sacraments and the handing on of the faith, and on Marial devotion.
He dwells particularly on the Vetus Ordo: he recalls that the 1962 liturgical books were still those used by the Council Fathers during the Council itself, and calls for a fresh look, without anachronism and in light of archives now beginning to open, at the process that led, after Vatican II, to the liturgical reform, a historical work he considers still largely to be undertaken. In his view, one can be fully Catholic while living the sacraments according to the 1962 books, and this centuries-old liturgy retains today its full missionary strength, particularly among younger generations.
The cardinal also shares his thoughts on the future of the Church in France and in Europe, on Pope Leo XIV’s upcoming visit to our country, and on what he experienced among the pilgrims of Chartres.
